Do you have a minimum night stay?
We generally require a 2-night minimum stay in our lodges, though this can vary with the season. For 1-night stays, which are available only between changeovers, please get in touch directly or check the ‘Book Now’ link for the latest availability.
How many people can stay in each lodge?
The Cow Shed is a couples’ retreat, and is thoughtfully designed to accommodate two adult guests. Kite Lodge sleeps up to 4 people, whereas Fallow Lodge offers a double sofa bed to allow a maximum of 6 people.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, we are pet friendly and you are welcome to bring your dogs (a maximum of 2 dogs per accommodation). There will be a £25.00 cleaning fee per dog, per stay.
The Cow Shed has a fully enclosed, secure courtyard. The decking area of the lodges are open, whilst the field they are situated in has secure fencing around the perimeter .
Are there any local walks?
There are so many options for walks! Visit our Things to Do Page for some great options across Rutland. Your Guest Information Folder also includes some personally recommended, dog friendly walking spots right on our doorstep if you don’t fancy venturing further.
Are there shops nearby?
There is a village shop & cafe in Castle Bytham which stocks all of your essentials. For larger stores, you can drive to a local town. Please check your Guest Information folder for more details. You can also arrange for an online shopping delivery for your convenience (guests must be on site to accept the delivery) or pre-order our Breakfast and BBQ packs so that they’re ready for your arrival.
What local pubs & restaurants are nearby?
There are plenty of great places to eat and drink, please visit our Things to Do page for our recommendations. There are also two pubs in the local village, which are within walking distance from your accommodation.
Do you have WIFI?
Yes, our WiFi is free to use during your stay.
Do you provide bedding and towels?
Yes, all bedding and towels are provided for your stay. If you are staying in a lodge with a hot tub, we advise bringing additional towels for use in the hot tub.
Are any essentials provided in the accommodation?
Yes! You will find the following items in your lodge: Tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper, olive oil, essential cleaning items (washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets) and fresh milk in the fridge.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is after 4 pm using a key safe; details sent 24 hours before arrival. Check-out is by 10 am. For early check-in or late check-out, please contact us (charges apply).
Where do we park our car?
There is a dedicated parking area. Cars are not permitted next to the lodges however large wheelbarrows are provided for your convenience.
